Winter 2026: Due to a smaller group of admitted students, we will be hosting 2 groups: 1 group for new exchange students and 1 group for graduate students. The First Friend Program can help you connect with other new students before you arrive in Montreal!
To help ease your transition to McGill, International Student Services (ISS) invites you to connect with other newly admitted students based in your region of the world as part of our First Friends Program! First Friends is a peer-to-peer program where you can chat and connect with new McGill students. The Immigration process can be stressful while applying for and waiting for your documents to arrive. It can be helpful to have regional friends to chat with and even make travel plans with! Additionally, we want to help you connect with your peers so you can make... your first friends.
Why should I sign up?
You’ll connect with other new students in the same world region as you.
You can rely on your first friends if you have any questions about immigration documents, a class, a student association, or a program in your faculty.
