Biron Laboratory Services:
- If you have an active International Health Insurance (IHI) plan – Medavie Blue Cross then you are eligible to benefit from direct billing for laboratory services at Biron (example: blood work).
- To use this service, you will first need to see a doctor to obtain a blood test requisition. You may visit any doctor who has a Canadian License – McGill Student Wellness Hub, Off Campus Clinics, Maple Virtual Care etc.
- Once you have a valid blood test requisition, you may book an appointment at the closest Biron location to you. Please use the appointment booking guide below.
- Rest assured that Biron will be responsible for transferring your blood test results back to the doctor who requested them.

- Please enter your information as precise as you can (it is not a problem if some info is missing for the list of tests):
- Enter your postal code to view nearest locations and appointment times
- Complete all information required to book your appointment. You do not need to enter the insurance company’s name. You can also disregard ‘Estimated price’.

- You must specify that you are a McGill International Student insured with Medavie Blue Cross:
What you must bring/expect at your Biron appointment:
- You must specify to the receptionist/nurse that you are McGill International Student insured with Medavie Blue Cross.
- You must arrive with 2 pieces of identification and present them when checking in for your appointment:
- It is mandatory to show proof of your Medavie Blue Cross card (an electronic card on your mobile is accepted).
- Your second identification can be a government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, etc.).
- Please have your Medavie Blue Cross form completed and signed before arriving for your appointment. You must complete the first section “member information” and sign/date the section “member statement”. The final section “provider information” will be completed by the Biron staff.
Please only complete and sign either English or French version. - And finally, please have your blood requisition that you received from your doctor. Please note that electronic copies will not be accepted – make sure to bring a physical copy.
