The 45-credit Honours in Investment Management Program seeks to attract a diverse group of students with strong potential. Prior experience in financial markets is not a requirement for the program.
Admissions requirements | Steps
1. A CGPA of 3.30 or higher on a minimum of 24 McGill credits, including a grade of B+ or better in the following courses:
- MGCR 211 Introduction to Financial Accounting
- MGCR 271 Business Statistics
- MGCR 341 Introduction to Finance
These pre-requisites may be taken in Fall and/or Winter to be eligible to apply. If you are unable to complete all three courses before May, please contact jiro.kondo [at] mcgill.ca (Jiro Kondo) for further information.
2. An Honours Investment Management Application must be submitted online by Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11h59pm. The required documents are:
- a cover letter (1-2 pages), which includes your motivation for applying to the program as well as any relevant knowledge or experience you might have;
- a CV/Resume (maximum two pages).
- copy of your unofficial McGill transcript

3. An interview (evaluation criteria will include motivation and relevant knowledge of the field of study).
4. Present a stock pitch
