Online orientations and advising are available by Zoom to answer any questions you may have in preparation of your new journey at the Schulich School of Music.

  • All newly admitted students who have confirmed their acceptance are invited to attend McGill PRO.
  • McGill PRO is a series of workshops designed to help you navigate course registration and provides you with an opportunity to ask your Academic Advisor questions face-to-face virtually.  Registration tips, program requirement, transfer credits, placement exams are few of the topics that will be discussed at the zoom info sessions. 
  • You are considered a U0 student if you come from high school. 
  • You are considered a U1 student if you have completed, or close to completing a DEC from CEGEP, have completed an IB diploma or French Baccalauréat, or transfer from another music conservatory or university.

Registration Part II Info Session

This is a follow-up zoom info session from McGill PRO. In this meeting, we will address registration questions follow the results of your placement tests and transfer credits, follow by a Q & A session.

Faculty Orientation

Date: Thursday, August 26, 2021

A mandatory online advising session for all new incoming students. Topics include:

  • Dean’s welcome message
  • Associate Dean, Academic & Student Affairs welcome message
  • Key resources for music students (Student Affairs, Music Libraries, Local Wellness Advisor)
  • Scholarships & Financial Aid
  • Communications & Production
  • MUSA

The presentation will be followed by a short question and answer period as well as a zoom meeting with your Area Advisor to review program expectations.
