The McGill Percussion Area is part of the Schulich School of Music of McGill University's Performance Department. We offer programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our programs feature a strong emphasis on fundamentals at the undergraduate level, and a personalized curriculum in developing expertise and research profile at the graduate levels. Students have the opportunity to work with all faculty members in the percussion area at McGill.

The Percussion Area currently offers the following courses: McGill Percussion Ensemble, Percussion Seminar, Tabla Ensemble, Hand Drumming, Rudimental Drumming, Orchestral Excerpts, Percussion Pedagogy and Chamber Music. McGill Percussion Ensemble is an award-winning ensemble which performs internationally and has an on-going composer-in-residence program in collaboration with the McGill Composition Area. 

Funding is available through scholarship and research assistantships (graduate students) in faculty research programs. For more information, please contact Area Chair Fabrice Marandola.
