Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) - Minor Music Pedagogy (18 Credits)
Students currently in a music education minor may still complete the minor by following the program requirements published in the archived course catalogue for the academic year when they were admitted to the minor. E.g. students who have begun the music education minor since Fall 2025 can review the minor program requirements on page 968 of the 2025-2026 Course Catalogue.
Admission Requirements
- Open to all undergraduate students enrolled in a bachelor program except students in the concurrent Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, and the Bachelor in Education (Music Elementary and Secondary).
- Students currently pursuing a music education minor cannot apply for this minor.
- Completion of at least two semesters at McGill.
- Should have acquired a solid musical background (e.g. music theory, music history, musical performance work, composition, teaching or conducting experience, etc.) before applying.
- Should demonstrate a keen interest in the minor.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0
Application
- Interested students must submit a music pedagogy minor application between July 15 and September 15.
- Students will receive the application result before the end of September.
- Successful applicants will have the minor added to their records after they have registered for at least once course in the semester when they wish to begin the minor.
