Welcome Incoming Exchange Students

The international exposure and academic experience gained by taking part in student exchange are highly worthwhile, both for Desautels Faculty of Management students going abroad for a term or a year, as well as for students coming to McGill to gain exposure to international management at Desautels.

Congratulations on your acceptance into the exchange program at McGill and specifically at Desautels Faculty of Management!

We invite you to start your journey by reviewing the important steps from the I’ve Been Accepted website, to start your term at McGill. You will find valuable information such as how to set up your McGill email account, submit your legal documents, get your McGill ID card, and much more.

Prepare for course registration by reviewing the information on how to use Minerva.

To get registered for your Management courses, please refer to our Course Registration for Incoming Exchange Students website.

Academic expenses

Exchange students are required to pay for course materials and textbooks. This could average up to $1,000 per term. Some courses include copyright fees and these fees are charged automatically to your student account when you buy a course pack at Le James. You will know how much this fee is when you buy the course pack (anywhere from $6.00 to $150.00). This fee may only appear in your student account a few weeks into the term, under the description Course Package Copyright Fee (DMGT). Failure to pay all charges that are on your account will result in McGill not releasing the transcript to your home university. Please make sure to clear your account before end of term.

Desautels Exchange Network (DEN)

A student-run organization that organizes events for you to meet other Exchange Students as well as our students going out on exchange, and of course some of the local students.
