About the Program

Student driven. Academically supported. Professionally advised.

The McGill Not-For-Profit Consulting program began in 2008 with the idea that students should have the opportunity to apply lessons from the classroom to the real world while giving back to the Montreal community. The result is a partnership between the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill and professional consultants, providing committed students with an amazing opportunity to gain real world consulting experience in a supportive environment.

Selected graduate and undergraduate students have the opportunity to work on a project with a local NGO of their choice (see Past Projects). The program begins in January and ends in April. Students receive 3 credits for the following undergraduate and graduate courses:

  • to give students hands on experience working with meaningful volunteer and mentorship opportunities; and
  • to expand McGill's impact on the local community.
