Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR): Transforming autism research, training and care -- improving lives via Open Science

Autism is a complex multifaceted group of conditions, described by the umbrella term autism spectrum disorder.

Understanding neurodevelopmental conditions like autism require a comprehensive approach -- this is where ACAR comes in:

Our goal is to improve the lives of autistic individuals, people with related neurodevelopmental conditions, and their families by:

  • Better understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism
  • Developing new diagnostic tools and effective interventions through transformative translational research
  • Training existing and new generations of fundamental and clinical researchers

To be a world-leading research centre that improves the lives of autistic people and their families

We are committed to:

  • Realizing opportunities for successful community inclusion in all aspects of our work
  • Research excellence and integrity in the spirit of Open Science, collaboration and accountability
