It was daunting to enter the MMA program without any technical skills or experience in the data field. Thankfully, the basic introduction to coding helped me get up to speed. The program is structured so that students with diverse backgrounds—in my case, physical and health education—can quickly build a marketable skill set with enough hard work. After learning to use a wide variety of software and programs, I now have a toolbox of specialized skills to bring to the table. You don’t just dip your toes into analytics through the MMA program. You dive deeper into every possibility.

I am extremely impressed with the Masters in Management Analytics program at McGill University. The program has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills, both technical and soft, that I am eager to apply in my professional career. I have learned about database management and architecture, as well as SQL querying, and have been able to continue developing my proficiency in Python and statistical analysis. The program has also introduced me to a wide range of decision analytics fields, including object-oriented programming, web scraping, process optimization, data manipulation, and simulation. In addition to these technical skills, I have also learned how to effectively lead a team and incorporate important concepts such as diversity, relationship management, cohesive dynamics, and empathy. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the program and am excited to take on the challenges of the next semesters, especially my Capstone project.

I am writing to express my gratitude to the Desjardins team, our partners at Google, and our coaches at the McGill Masters in Management Analytics program for their collaboration and support during our Capstone project. It was a truly memorable experience, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with such knowledgeable and dedicated professionals. Their guidance and expertise were key to our success, and we have learned a wealth of skills that will be invaluable in our future careers. I would also like to thank my team for their hard work and dedication over the past few months. Despite working with a platform and industry that was mostly foreign to us, we were able to gain significant insight and make valuable contributions. I am incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished, and I am grateful to have had such a supportive team.

The MMA program provided a smooth transition from my undergraduate degree to the workforce. Through the consultancy project, I learned how to interact with C-suite leaders and collaborate well on a team. It was especially rewarding for my classmates and I to apply the skills we learned in the classroom in a practical setting. The multi-disciplinary nature of the program equipped us with the right mix of technical and business skills to translate data into real impact. After graduation, the same client I worked for as a consultant offered me a job. Thanks to the MMA, I entered the workforce with confidence.

I have had the privilege of participating in the MMA program for the past 7 months and it has truly been an enriching experience. The program has provided me with the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the most talented and knowledgeable professionals in the industry. I am grateful for the support and guidance of Loblaw Digital, Google, Professor Shoeb Hosain, and Dino Stamatiou, who have all played a vital role in my development as a marketer. I highly recommend the MMA program to anyone looking to advance their skills and knowledge in the field of marketing. It has been a truly rewarding experience and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing program.
During my years working in consulting for the Financial Industry, I experienced and learned many tools and methodologies that brought me closer to the world of Data & Analytics. Motivated by this fast-growing field of business I decided to look for programs that not only provided the technical skills to build top performing models, but also understood how to execute them and bring real business value. For me, the MMA checked all these boxes.
After graduating, I came out as a more well rounded data translator that understands the business impact of any analytics project and that is also capable of getting into the technical details when needed.
While working in finance, I developed a strong interest in analytics when I realized how much of my work could be automated and optimized. The MMA program provided the specific skills I needed to take my career in a new direction. Gaining proficiency in the areas of technology, business, and statistics paid off when I found a job as a senior data scientist at a major telecommunications firm after graduation. Now I’m building tools that more than 300 colleagues are using on a daily basis. I’m grateful to the MMA for equipping me to lead in a field that matters.
I chose the MMA program because I was looking for tools to apply my background in mathematics in real-world situations. Without a doubt, the program delivered. The definite highlight was the opportunity to partner with a startup for my consulting project. Throughout the year, I learned to work with stakeholders from different disciplines and backgrounds. I learned that being a data analyst is just as much about communication and strategy as it is about coding. Not many programs provide this level of practical experience. I graduated with the right blend of skills to stand out from the pack and land a job as a data analytics analyst at a leading technology and media company.
