Jean-Willy Kunz, DMus 2011, named new Resident Organist of the OSM

Jean-Willy Kunz studied piano and organ at the Conservatory in Grenoble and continued at the Conservatory in Lyon. He studied jazz piano at the Conservatory in Lyon and founded a saxophone and organ duo with Frédéric Lagoutte. He then studied organ and harpsichord with Mireille Lagacé at the Conservatoire de Montréal and completed his doctorate in organ in 2011 at McGill University with John Grew. That year he also won third prize and the Richard-Bradshaw audience prize at the Canadian International Organ Competition in Montreal. He currently teaches analysis and harmony at the Université de Montréal and plays harpsichord with the Caprice ensemble.
