Schulich Jazz Area Forum: Bogdan Gumenyuk

BOGDAN GUMENYUK, tenor saxophone (SSoM alumnus)
Bogdan Gumenyuk is a musician, producer, composer, educator, and founder of the Ukrainian music label, LabelWhoAble. Bogdan was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, and received his master’s degree in Jazz Music Performance at The University of the Arts (Philadelphia) in 2013. He has won several international music competitions and shared the stage with Ukrainian acts including Jamala, Okean Elzy, and Mad Heads. He has also performed with notable jazz musicians from Western Europe and North America, including Curtis Fuller, Benito Gonzalez, Café, Joel Holmes, Pierre Boussaguet, Sam Harris, Ameen Saleem, Xavier Davis, and Kevin Mahogany, among others.
Bogdan has recorded two albums of his own compositions: The Way I Hear (2017) and Love Letters to the Other Side, featuring Jim Doxas, Adrian Vadady, Lex French and Josh Rager (2022).
