McGill University expands its business analytics degree with online delivery

Published: 18 September 2023

McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management is launching an online version of its top-ranked Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program. The 18-month online offering will feature the same high-quality curriculum and content as the in-person, full-time program, providing a balance of advanced statistics, technology and business strategy, and giving students a broad range of practical skills to turn data-driven insights into actionable solutions.

“With the new online format, we are opening doors to a broader audience eager to enhance business analytics skills while seeking flexibility in their educational journey,” explains Professor Mehmet Gumus, academic director of the McGill Desautels MMA program. “Our students will have the freedom to learn at their own pace through a mix of asynchronous classes, live sessions and tutorials, and to complete their degree requirements from anywhere.”

The first half of the new online MMA format comprises a core module of analytics courses; the second offers a mix of elective and experiential modules, giving students the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals. Online MMA students will also benefit from optional in-person networking activities at McGill University’s campus in downtown Montreal. “With this expansion of our highly sought-after MMA, the Faculty looks forward to serving a diverse range of individuals and helping them achieve their academic and career goals in business analytics,” adds Professor Gumus.
