Our program utilises a multi-disciplinary approach for the diagnosis and treatment of seizures and epilepsy. The team is composed of neurologists specialized in epilepsy care (epileptologists), neuropsychologists, a clinical nurse specialist, a social worker, EEG technicians, nutritionist, geneticist, genetic counselor, neuropsychiatrists, and neuropsychologists. Our program meets the criteria of a comprehensive level 4 Epilepsy program as established by the National Association of Epilepsy Centres (NAEC). We offer state of the art investigation and treatment modalities in close collaboration with our research group. Our facilities include the EEG laboratory, the epilepsy clinic, as well as the in-patient Frederick Andermann Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Non-invasive and invasive (stereotactic EEG) studies are at the core of the program to determine candidacy for epilepsy surgery. Neuromodulation and other non-resective therapies are recommended when appropriate.
