Preston Robb-Mierins Family Day Centre (NDC)

The Preston Robb-Mierins Family Day Centre (NDC) is a nurse–led treatment service that provides, in collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals, a variety of treatments, interventions, diagnostic testing, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative monitoring for ambulatory patients referred by physicians of The Neuro, MUHC and the McGill RUIS (Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé). The mandate of the NDC is to provide tertiary and quaternary interventions and thus prevent hospital admissions and emergency room visits, as well as, shorten the length of hospitalizations.

The NDC team members are outstanding contributors to quality patient care, they have a high level of knowledge in neuroscience nursing, are consistently scientifically curious, and practice evidence-based medicine. The team is compassionate and develops strong relationships with the patients and their families, helping and teaching them to cope in healthy ways with the very significant impact that chronic neurological illnesses have on their daily lives.
