Getting an MRI at The Neuro

What to expect—from the waiting area to the MRI machine itself—for your appointment at The Neuro.

Visiting a hospital or research center can bring up a lot of questions—What will it look like? Who will I meet? What will happen?

This video is part of the Québec 1,000 (Q1K) Families initiative and is designed to help individuals and families prepare for their MRI visit at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital).

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan is a tool that takes detailed pictures of the brain using magnets. In this walkthrough, we’ll show you what to expect—from the waiting area to the MRI machine itself—so you can feel more comfortable and prepared for your visit. Understanding what will happen ahead of time can make the experience smoother and more predictable.

If you have any questions or want to learn more about Q1K, visit www.q1k.ca or email us at Q1K [at] mcgill.ca.
