McGill Cancer Auction raised close to $30,000 for Cancer Society

The McGill Cancer Auction Committee, co-chaired by Rosalie Lesser & Lindsay Lubov, had a record-breaking year after its event on Friday, raising close to $30,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. This year's auction items included flight tickets, spa gift certificates and Igloofest passes.

Desautels BCom Students Take Two 1st Place Podiums at UPorto ICC 2013

A Desautels undergraduate student case team composed of Brooke Freeman, Shonezi Noor, Katan Patel and Jeremy Singer not only took 1st place in the preliminary case but also placed 1st overall in the main case at the UPorto ICC 2013 hosted by the University of Porto from October 21 to 25, 2013. This was the first international case competition held in Portugal.

Canadian Business Students Visit St. Petersburg

Last weekend St. Petersburg hosted a group of 37 business students and alumni from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, as part of the institution’s “Hot Cities” initiative.

… Speaking to the St Petersburg Times, trip leader Dr. Karl Moore, a lecturer in business leadership and strategy at McGill’s world-renowned Desautels Faculty of Management, explained that this trip was a chance for students to experience the global business environment first-hand.

KPMG Announces winners of the 2013 National Competition

McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management students Jean Vianney Cordeiro, David Gao, Shirley Xu Wang and their team have won the 2013 National Ace the Case competition on March 2. Jean Vianney, David and Shirley’s team had earned the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2013 KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) in Madrid, Spain, coming up on April 2-5.

BCom students make it to the finals at the Marshall International Case Competition 2013

A McGill Desautels case team made it to the finals at the Marshall International Case Competition (MICC) hosted by the University of Southern California (USC). This team of four BCom students, composed of Alexia Belisle, Frederick Dubé Fortier, Simon Hudson and Charlotte Lucas, placed top 6 out of 30 competing universities at this year’s competition which took place from February 12 to 17, 2013.

Desautels BCom Students Won KPMG’s Ace the Case Local Competition

BCom students Jean Vianney Cordeiro, David Gao and Shirley Xu Wang recently won the KPMG’s Ace the Case Local Competition. On March 2, Jean Vianney, David, Shirley Xu and their team will represent the KPMG Montreal office at the 2013 National Ace the Case competition, via video conference. The winners of the National Competition will go on to represent Canada at the International level in Madrid, Spain in April.

And after an evening of pitches to a panel of judges and the selection of winners, the end game now approaches: A $10,000 publicity campaign to be launched in April.
