On a beau en parler depuis des lunes, les femmes sont toujours aussi rares dans les postes de direction, encore plus celles qui viennent d'une minorité visible. À cause de son inertie, le Canada perd même du terrain dans l'égalité homme-femme, par rapport à d'autres pays. Et c'est l'ensemble de la société qui en paie le prix.

Desautels BCom Students Won KPMG’s Ace the Case Local Competition

BCom students Jean Vianney Cordeiro, David Gao and Shirley Xu Wang recently won the KPMG’s Ace the Case Local Competition. On March 2, Jean Vianney, David, Shirley Xu and their team will represent the KPMG Montreal office at the 2013 National Ace the Case competition, via video conference. The winners of the National Competition will go on to represent Canada at the International level in Madrid, Spain in April.

Few women and visible minorities among the senior decision-making ranks

MONTREAL, Feb. 7, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ – While women have gained ground, accounting for 31.2% of senior leadership roles in Montreal, visible minorities remain more markedly underrepresented in these ranks. In spite of accounting for 22.5% of the population, only 5.9% of senior leaders were visible minorities according to a study led by researchers from McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management and Ryerson University’s Diversity Institute.

Rivals bury their differences to promote Canadian MBAs

Canada’s top business schools, usually active competitors, have joined forces to promote Canadian MBA programmes to both domestic and international students.

The self-appointed group of six, to be called the Canadian MBA Alliance, includes Desautels (McGill), Ivey (Western Ontario), Queen’s, Rotman (Toronto), Sauder (British Columbia) and Schulich (York). The aim of the alliance is to attract top international students to Canada but also to retain local talent.
