MMA assembles accomplished advisory board

Meet the MMA Inaugural Class: The diversity of students in the Masters of Management in Analytics program strengthens the classroom experience.
Published: 31 October 2018

This fall, the Masters of Management in Analytics (MMA) kicked off its first Advisory Board meeting to discuss the future directions of the MMA curriculum, which will benefit its inaugural cohort.

The MMA Advisory Board comprises senior industry leaders from a wide variety of educational and skills backgrounds who have excelled in their given fields.

The Board hails from industries such as AI and Analytics Consulting, Digital Marketing, Sports and Media Analytics, HealthTech Services, and Streaming and Analytics Software, among others. Members also bring a worldly perspective, from their combined work experience in the U.K., U.S., China, Singapore and Canada.

With the aim of aligning academia with the realities of industry, core discussion points during the meeting focused on:

  • Technical skill needs and requirements in the industry, and the in-course content and software certification that can enhance students’ technical dexterity;
  • Analytics case competitions such as the Hackathon in winter 2019 and ensuring that the event benefits from strong visibility in the big data marketplace;
  • Executing and delivering high analytic results in the program’s Experiential Learning Industry Projects.

The Board will move forward with the agreed-upon next steps to strengthen the program for the third term, which begins in January 2019.
