From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Faculty and students from Quebec universities, BAnQ researchers, & CEGEP faculty

  • For faculty and students at a Quebec university: please use your regular student or faculty account to borrow items from the McGill University Libraries by providing your University ID while at the service desk.
  • For CEGEP faculty: To obtain a BCI card, forward a letter from your academic dean directly to the BCI Research Officer in accordance with BCI procedures documentation (p.7-8). The BCI card enables CEGEP faculty to obtain borrowing privileges at all Quebec university libraries according to the policies in place at each institution. To obtain your McGill Libraries Borrowing Card, please complete the McGill Libraries Borrowing Card Application Form, bring your BCI card and your current institutional photo ID to the Library Services Desk of any McGill library location (excluding the Rare Books & Special Collections Library, the McGill Archives, or the Geographic Information Centre) during regular service hours.
  • Faculty members and 3rd-year Masters of Divinity students of the Montreal School of Theology who don’t have a McGill ID may request a McGill Library Borrowing Card. To obtain a McGill Libraries Borrowing Card, please complete the McGill Libraries Borrowing Card Application Form and bring a letter from the School and a photo ID to the Information Desk of any McGill library location (excluding the Rare Books & Special Collections Library or the McGill Archives) during regular service hours. 
  • For BAnQ researchers: to obtain a McGill Libraries Borrowing Card, please complete the McGill Libraries Borrowing Card Application Form and bring a request letter from the BAnQ and a photo ID to the Information Desk of any McGill library location (excluding the Rare Books & Special Collections Library or the McGill Archives) during regular service hours.
