Khoo Hui Ming is a board certified neurosurgeon and a visiting researcher at Osaka University Graduate School in Japan. She graduated from Osaka University as an MD in 2004. Upon attaining board certification in neurosurgery,
she decided to start her research career with studying for a PhD in 2010. She earned her PhD at Osaka University in 2014.
Since the beginning of her research career, she is interested in functional neuroimaging and electrophysiology, focused particularly on different kinds of functional neurosurgical disorders including epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus and other kinds of movement disorders. She was engaged in the clinical and research works on epilepsy during her PhD study.
Since June 2015, she joined the group of Dr. Gotman and Dr. Dubeau in order to extend her expertise infunctional neuroimaging on epilepsy. Her research focus includes incorporation of EEG-fMRI findings in epilepsy surgery, correspondence between EEG-fMRI findings and intracerebral EEG signal, functional connectivity in epilepsy, stereo-EEG implantation and etc. and etc.
