Carolina Cuello Oderiz obtained her medical degree in University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
As a medical student, she received a scholarship from Raul Carrea Institute for Neurological Research (FLENI) for the study of mechanical basis of gait patterns in prevalent neurological syndromes and of the festinating gait in Parkinson's disease.
She completed the neurology residency program at Hospital Italiano in Buenos Aires where she also completed Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy Fellowship in year 2015. She did a rotation at Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of Tampa General Hospital, United States.
She co-authored research articles on refractory status epilepticus, epilepsy in the eldery, sleep disorders, neuroophthalmology, internal medicine and neurology, transient global amnesia and gait patterns.
She came to the MNI in 2016 for a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Gotman and Dr. Dubeau. She has studied the differences between High Frequency Oscillations and Interictal epileptiform discharges in scalp EEG and the use of High Frequency Oscillations as a biomarker in epilepsy surgery. Currently, she is working on brain stimulation in SEEG.
