Abstract
Computational social sciences are increasingly used to understand individuals and populations dynamics. While they enable to forecast the effects of alternative, computer-based simulations & predictions, realizing these opportunities requires addressing challenges related to data quality, technical complexity, ethical considerations, and implementation. Drawing from practical applications in animal and public health, we will discuss whether an augmented global computational capability will shape evidence based policies.
