Why did you choose to study at McGill Desautels?
When choosing where to go after high school, my goal was to attend a top institution in Canada with a diverse student body, an engaging curriculum, and an inspiring faculty. McGill Desautels fit every single one of these criteria perfectly.
What was one of the highlights of your time with us?
Creating the McGill Desautels African Business Initiative (McGill DABI) was a huge highlight for me. Having the opportunity to leave a mark on the institution while growing both personally and professionally was an incredible and unforgettable experience. To this day, thinking about that time still brings a smile to my face.
How has your McGill Desautels education transformed you as a person?
My time at McGill Desautels was transformative in so many ways. The diverse student body broadened my horizons and helped me learn about various parts of the world, all while staying in Montreal. It also allowed me to create strong and beautiful friendships that remain important in my life today.
Additionally, the academic rigor and opportunities to learn outside the classroom—through case competitions and student clubs—played a crucial role in shaping my professional development.
What is your current role and how have the skills you gained at McGill Desautels helped you in your current work?
I currently work in strategy at a global company. McGill Desautels equipped me with the foundational business knowledge to navigate this role effectively. Moreover, the many class presentations and group projects prepared me well for the collaborative and dynamic nature of my day-to-day work.
What advice would you give to other African students looking to study at McGill Desautels?
My advice is to make sure their learning extends beyond the classroom! From professors to fellow students, clubs, and case competitions, the faculty is filled with resources that play a crucial role in personal and professional growth.
