TAKE NOTE: Being authorized to study part-time by the Internships and Student Affairs Office doesn't guarantee eligibility for Bourse Perspective and other Scholarships/Awards.

Programme de bourses Perspective Québec (PBPQ)

Starting in the Fall 2022 term, the Government of Québec has launched the Programme de bourses Perspective Québec (PBPQ) which encourages students to pursue postsecondary study in fields deemed a priority to the province’s workforce planning, which includes McGill's Bachelor of Education program.

The value of the scholarship is $2,500 per term, up to a total of $20,000 for a 4-year program (excluding terms completed as a Foundation/U0). The per term amounts will be awarded to students after each successful completion of a full-time term of study, starting in Fall 2022. The Fall 2022 term will be paid out in the subsequent term (i.e. Winter 2023). PBPQ funding will not be accorded retroactively for terms completed prior to Fall 2022. Students may be in any year of their degree program to apply for the scholarship (eg. newly admitted, at the midpoint of the degree or about to graduate), as long as all other eligibility criteria are met.

Eligibility requirements:

Québec Perspective scholarships are offered to Québec resident students who have completed their full-time study term (or deemed full-time with at least 6 credits for students with a documented disability, certain family situations such as a young dependent child, etc. to be defined by the Government of Québec) and who meet all the eligibility requirements for the scholarship program. To verify the eligibility requirements, please visit both McGill's Service Point website and the Government of Québec's website. Be sure to review the FAQ portion of the Service Point website. Students receiving the Bourse d'excellence are not eligible for the Programme de bourses Perspective Québec scholarship for the same terms in which they are receiving the Bourse d'excellence.

Students who must be part-time can only do so with permission and are required to submit ISA’s Request for Permission to Study Part-time form each term by the term's add/drop deadline. To be eligible for the scholarship, it is imperative that you are registered full-time (12 credits or more), or have submitted the Request for Permission to Study Part-time, in each applicable term. You can still make changes to your course selections until the term's Add/Drop deadline; however, please make sure that you maintain 12 credits or more in each term to remain eligible.

Application process:

Students must submit an application after each full-time, or deemed full-time, study term that they successfully complete in their program. Students will apply for this scholarship through the Government of Québec's scholarship portal, available here. Students are encouraged to apply early for PBPQ funding, even if they have incomplete or pending grades. Deadlines for submitting an application are:

Fall 2023 term: February 28, 2024

Winter 2024 term: July 31, 2024

Summer 2024 term: October 31, 2024

If you have any questions about the program or the eligibility requirements, please contact Service Point and/or the Government of Québec.
