Steven Sonnenstein is a Managing Director at Digital Colony, the world’s largest digital infrastructure investment firm, dealing in the four key segments of digital infrastructure – data centres, macro cell towers, fiber networks, and small cell networks. Steven responsible for the origination, evaluation, completion, and ongoing asset management of new investments for Digital Colony on a global basis.
Steven is an accomplished telecommunications infrastructure executive with over 24 years of global mergers and acquisitions, asset management and operations experience. Prior to joining Digital Colony, Steven was a Senior Director at Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers, where he created a telecommunications infrastructure asset class within the broader infrastructure group.
Before joining PSP Investments, he worked for Brookfield Asset Management in its Private Equity and Infrastructure Groups with a particular focus on and experience in South America. And prior to that, he spent several years working in mergers and acquisitions and distressed advisory.
He shares management oversight of Andean Telecom Partners and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Aptum Technologies, Highline do Brasil, Beanfield Metroconnect and Wildstone Capital.
Steven is a proud two-time McGill graduate, with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1996, and a post graduate degree in Chartered Accountancy in 1998.
