Darren Tangen

Darren Tangen currently works as a Commercial Real Estate Consultant at Westbank Corp, where he previously served as president. Prior to Westbank, Mr. Tangen worked as Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Business Development at Oaktree Capital Management. In this role, he was responsible for sourcing corporate real estate investment opportunities and business strategies. For 23 years prior, Mr. Tangen worked for Black Tusk Partners, a real estate investment and advisory service company he founded. Simultaneously, Mr. Tangen held various senior investment-related roles at Colony Capital Inc., the predecessor to Colony NorthStar, including Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. He played a valuable role in taking the company public in 2009 and led it through its successful combination with Colony Capital, LLC in 2015.

Mr. Tangen received his Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and his Master of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he was recognized as a Palmer Scholar.
