Email notices

Notices for items due soon, holds, recalls and overdue fines are sent to you by email.  You will also receive an email if an item cannot be automatically renewed.

The reminder notices are meant to alert you that a borrowed item will be due soon.

  • For McGill students, faculty and staff: All library notices are sent to your McGill email address.
  • For McGill Community Borrowers: All library notices will be sent to the email address you provided on your McGill Library Borrowing Card Application Form.
  • For Borrowers from other BCI Libraries: All library notices will be sent to your institutional email address.

Note: You are still responsible for returning items on time even if you do not receive the email notices. Please check your library account for up-to-date information.

One overdue item will prevent all items on your account from renewing automatically. You are responsible for all late fees you accrue as a result. Please be sure to return all items on time.
