Library services & spaces re-open Monday, January 24, 2022
As of Monday, January 24, all Library branches, including stack areas, will be accessible to Library users. In-person reference and circulation services will resume across branches. Visit the hours webpage for a full listing of opening and service hours. Due to University directives, access to library spaces will be limited to current McGill students, faculty, and staff. As a result of this reopening, the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service, Pickup Service and Study Hubs will be discontinued.
Please note that a vaccine passport provided by the Quebec Government OR Fast-Pass sticker AND current McGill ID card is required to access all physical Library spaces. As per public health, government, and university directives, procedural masks will continue to be required in all indoor spaces at McGill, including all Library branches. Mask dispensers are positioned at Library entrances.
- Conversation/Zoom Zones: The main floors of the McLennan-Redpath Library Complex and the Cyberthèque (Redpath Library Building, ground floor) and will serve as designated Conversation/Zoom Zones. Students can attend/participate in online activities in these spaces. First come, first served. Earbuds/earphones are required in these areas. Please note that students who attend classes virtually but do not need to speak can do so from any library work area.
- Group study: Group study rooms can be accessed/booked online as of January 24. Procedural masks are mandatory in all group study rooms.
- Equipment on-site: uPrint, public computing stations, laptop-lending machines, and phone recharging stations will be available for use in library spaces.
- Food & drink: Reusable water bottles or other sealed drink containers are permitted in Library spaces. Water fountains are available. Food is not permitted in the Library. Please visit McGill Food & Dining Services website for more information regarding where to eat on campus.
