- full-text searching capabilities
- open access to anyone, anywhere in the world
- preservation for the future
How to submit research publications
To submit content to eScholarship, email us at escholarship.library [at] mcgill.ca (escholarship[dot]library[at]mcgill[dot]ca), including your publication file(s) and its citation. Or, you can fill out our online submission form instead. We will check the publisher permissions and will upload your item to eScholarship on your behalf.
We handle the embargo periods for journal publications, ensuring it does not appear on the site until the appropriate time. This means you can send your publication to eScholarship immediately upon acceptance, even if your publisher requires an embargo period.
Submit your work via our submission form
We also offer an open access service for uploading multiple publications: send us your CV, ORCID, or list of publications to escholarship.library [at] mcgill.ca (escholarship[dot]library[at]mcgill[dot]ca). We will review your publications, determine which can be made open access, and upload the appropriate versions that you supply.
Undergraduate student scholarship must be sponsored by a faculty member or department in order to be submitted to eScholarship.
How to submit theses and dissertations
Theses are submitted to eScholarship via the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS). GPS authorizes the release of theses to the Libraries after ensuring all requirements are met. Theses are available online within a few weeks after graduation. They are fully catalogued and appear in the Library Catalogue as well as Library and Archives Canada Theses Canada portal.
How to find items in eScholarship
You can discover eScholarship content from Google, Google Scholar, and other search engines. You can also search for items and browse all collections directly from eScholarship. Read our guide on advanced searching and troubleshooting in eScholarship.
Policies and agreements
Read our full policy statement and guidelines on deposit.
Authors depositing non-thesis items in eScholarship must agree to the terms of our non-exclusive license. This only needs to be done once per author via our mediated deposit agreement form. Thesis authors do not need to sign the agreement. The license for theses and dissertations is completed through the myThesis portal.
