A graduate student who is no longer registered because of non-compliance with the Time Limitation Policy but who requires access to library resources to complete their thesis can obtain borrowing privileges and extend access to library e-resources.
Your faculty administrator or thesis advisor should send either an email or signed letter, specifying the extension’s end date, to the head librarian at the appropriate library location. For Humanities and Social Sciences Library, the email or the letter should be sent to hsslloans.library [at] mcgill.ca (hsslloans[dot]library[at]mcgill[dot]ca).
To get your access to library e-resources extended, you should have an active McGill email address. If your McGill email address has expired, your faculty administrator or thesis advisor should request its reactivation from McGill IT services prior to requesting access to library e-resources.
For print borrowing privileges, you must then register for a McGill Libraries Borrowing card and select the PhD extension category.
