Research Process

The Moments in Time card game was developed by a team of archivists, librarians, graphic designers, and students at McGill University. They worked together to research and curate a list of notable events in world history and match them with items within the ROAAr collections.

Researchers first identified recognizable events and created a chronological outline of the game by investigating and determining clear dates for each event. These events and related aspects were then researched within the ROAAr collections, where they were connected to records that represent the chosen events. The final product is a visually stunning, educational game that showcases remarkable items in the collection through identification with significant events.

This research was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
