Prof. Xin Zhao named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association

Congratulations to Xin Zhao, Distinguished James McGill Professor in the Department of Animal Science at McGill University, on being named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association (ADSA). The ADSA will present Professor Zhao with this prestigious award on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at their annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.
The ADSA Fellow Award recognizes ADSA members who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry for 20 years or more. Recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA.
Zhao is internationally recognized for his work in lactation physiology, mastitis research, antimicrobial resistance in bacterial pathogens, and gut health. His research aims to improve livestock management to prevent and control animal diseases while maintaining a healthy and sustainable food supply.
He has mentored over 100 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting professors, and has authored or coauthored more than 280 refereed journal articles. Zhao is a former ADSA board member and continues to contribute as an editor for the Journal of Dairy Science. In 2016, ADSA also recognized Zhao's research excellence with the West Agro Inc. Award.
