System maintenance affecting Library Catalogue, Databases A-Z and ILL requests, September 10 from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m.

On Sunday, September 10, from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m., the company that hosts our Library catalogue (OCLC) will conduct system maintenance that could result in intermittent interruptions and slow response times for search results. Links to e-resources from within the catalogue and the Databases A-Z list, as well as the ability to place Interlibrary Loan requests might also intermittently be affected during this time.

New! Booking group study rooms now uses McGill login

Starting August 7, 2017, log into the Library's room booking system with your McGill username and password, in order to book group study rooms at the Library.

Room booking system downtime, Monday, August 7, after 8PM

The Library's room booking system, LibCal, will be unavailable for approximately one hour on Monday evening, August 7, 2017, sometime after 8PM for a scheduled upgrade.

Macdonald Campus Library will be closed the morning of August 4th

Please note, the Macdonald Campus Library will be closed until 2pm on Friday, August 4th due to scheduled maintenance. It is set to reopen from 2 to 5pm that day.

ProQuest platforms experiencing connectivity issues

UPDATE, Tuesday, July 18, 5:00pm: All ProQuest services are now available. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Starting around 4:00 PM Eastern on Monday, July 17th, 2017 ProQuest began experiencing issues across a range of their products. As a result, access to ProQuest resources including ProQuest Platform (PQP) is not available at this time.

McLennan Reading Room closed for renovations from July 10-31

From Monday July 10 to Monday July 31, the McLennan reading room/reference area on the main floor and south side of the McLennan Library Building (overlooking Sherbrooke and McTavish Streets) will be temporarily closed for renovations. The existing carpet will be replaced with new flooring. This area, including computer stations and McLennan e-Classroom will be closed to the public.

Update: Platform Migration - ebrary and EBL moving to Ebook Central

In mid-July, ebrary and EBL collections were migrated to a new ProQuest platform called Ebook Central. Due to this change, personal accounts from EBL and ebrary were moved to the new platform.

Entrance to McLennan Library Building temporarily closed for repairs

Update, June 21: Repairs have been completed and the McLennan doors are now open again. Please use the main entrance of McLennan to enter the Humanities and Social Sciences Library. (Please note: the temporary access via the Redpath doors is no longer available and the alarm will sound if the emergency exits there are opened.)

Education Curriculum Resources Centre temporarily closed for renovations from August 5-27

The two heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the Education Building will be replaced this summer. As a result of this renovation work, the Education Curriculum Resources Centre will temporarily close from Saturday, August 5 to Sunday, August 27. During this time, the collection will be unavailable. The last day to submit hold requests will be Wednesday, July 19.
