Tax Credits & Funding

Quebec Tax Credits

The Quebec government allows certain Quebec-based companies to claim a percentage of a student's salary and training costs. All students in the McGill Software Engineering Co-op are in a government recognized co-op/internship program. If your company qualifies for the tax credit, working with our students through our co-op program may entitle you to a tax credit.

Your company can verify if it meets the criteria on Revenue Quebec's website or by calling 1-800-567-4692.

Please note that the  PDF icon Revenue Quebec Tax Credit Form for McGill Software Engineering Co-ops instructions are only available in French.

Eligible companies can receive funding for a maximum of 420 hours per work-term, extendable to 840 hours for an 8-month co-op placement. The Tax credit form should be completed and sent in at the end of the placement.

Process

Within one month of completion of the work term, fill out and send the form to the careers4engineers [at] mcgill.ca (Engineering Career Center) for review. A PDF copy of the digitally signed form will be returned to you signed by the Software Co-op Advisor. It is the employer’s responsibility to send the signed completed form to Revenue Quebec.
