Alumni Webcast: Why does everything cost so much?

From droughts in California to Covid lockdowns in China, events occurring thousands of kilometres away are having a profound impact on household economies, hindering our ability to put healthy food on our tables and to stock our wardrobes and medicine cabinets.

Join us at our next Made by McGill alumni webcast as we sit down with a pair of McGill professors with expertise in economics, agricultural production and supply chain management to try to make sense of the global forces that have led to half-empty store shelves and rising costs for groceries and other household staples.

Featured speakers

Javad Nasiry, Professor, Operations Management, Desautels Faculty of Management; Director of McGill’s Sustainable Growth Initiative

Pascal Thériault, Senior Faculty Lecturer, Dept. of Farm Management and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

Moderated by Derek Cassoff, Managing Director, Communications, McGill University Advancement
