From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Research and Innovation

Exciting things are happening at McGill's Faculty of Engineering. We host a wide range of research projects in all aspects of Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning. Our research areas are listed on our Department and School page. 

Much of our research work is interdisciplinary in nature. Some of our strategic research areas include Information and Communications Technology, Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, Aerospace Engineering, Bioengineering, and Design for Sustainability.

  • SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering): SURE students work closely with a McGill Engineering professor on one of their research projects for 16 weeks in the summer.
