Program Information:
- Accepted students receive a $3205.05 award to participate in the spring or summer program*
- *The Award includes tuition and accommodation in student residence
- *The Award does not include food, transportation and entertainment
- 5-week experiential opportunity at Université Laval in Quebec City
- 18 hours of French classes each week
- Cultural activities (ex. cooking, improv, film, dance, etc.)
The Summer French Immersion Program is considered an Enriched Educational Opportunity (EEO), a high-quality off-campus mobility or other experiential opportunity. EEOs foster self-development and help students transition successfully to the workplace. The University is striving to expand opportunities for undergraduates to participate in EEOs and to make them accessible to all undergraduates regardless of their financial capacity. As such, any student who wishes to participate in the French Explore Program but faces financial barriers may apply to the EEO Bursary Program to help defray additional costs. Program Eligibility:
- Enrolled full-time as a McGill international degree student (undergraduate or graduate) in Spring and Fall 2024.
- Canadian students can apply directly to the Explore Program
- Satisfactory academic standing.
- All levels of French are welcome.
- Graduate students in research programs must obtain permission from your supervisor before applying to the program.
Selection to be based on written essay and all eligibility criteria must be met.
