How Psychiatrists Can Help

teal line

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in the diagnosing and treatment of individuals living with mental illness. A doctor can refer you to a psychiatrist.

  1. Diagnose mental illnesses (including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, bipolar, and other mood disorders)
  2. Prescribe and monitor medication for a diagnosed mental illness
  3. Make referrals for appropriate care, both on- and off-campus
