Announcing the winner of the McGill - Freie Universität Berlin Funding Program for Joint Research Workshop
Saurabh Mishra, Associate Professor of Marketing at McGill University and Sascha Raithel, Professor of Marketing at Freie Universität Berlin are the first recipients of the McGill - Freie Universität Berlin Funding Program for Joint Research Workshops for their workshop “Brand Failure, Perceived Threat, & Brand Performance”. The next call for joint workshops under this program will be in September.

Dr. Ronald Lafrenière appointed Managing Director of McGill’s CFREF Program, Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives
In September 2016, the federal government made an unparalleled investment in research and innovation, announcing $84 million in funding over seven years for McGill’s Healthy Brains for Healthy Lives initiative, as part of the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF) program. Following this announcement, a committee for the selection of the HBHL Managing Director engaged in an extensive search and interview process.

Research and Innovation Appoints Nancy Ross New AVP
Research and Innovation (R&I) is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Nancy Ross of the Department of Geography as Associate Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation (AVP-R&I), with a three-year mandate beginning September 1, 2016. Prof. Ross follows Prof. Antonia Maioni, who served in the role for one year before assuming the role of Dean of the Faculty of Arts at McGill University on July 1.

The Office of Research and International Relations officially changed its name to the Office of Research and Innovation (R&I), as of June 1, 2016.

International Relations Moves to Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)
The International Relations division, previously located in the Office or Research and International Relations (now the Office of Research and Innovation) has been moved to the purview of the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic).
