From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Research Area: Population Ecology

Dr. Guichard is professor of Biology at McGill University. He is also the co-director of the Centre for Applied Mathematics in Bioscience and Medicine (CAMBAM), and of the laboratory of mathematical biology at the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM). He received the Prix Stratégique FRQNT and the Centennial Research Award from the McDonnell Foundation. He is actively involved in large collaborative networks including The Canadian Healthy Oceans Network (CHONe). His research focuses on non-equilibrium dynamics of spatially-structured ecosystems, with an emphasis on marine coastal ecosystems. His group combines mathematical and computational approaches to the development of ecological theories, and the analysis of large datasets. His research has direct implications for the design of marine reserve networks.
