Radix Advisory Board Application

Positions:

  • Visual Arts Editor(s)
  • Written Word Editor(s)
  • Promotion and Events Coordinator

What the advisory board does:

  • Proposes and collectively decides on engaging and relevant themes for each issue.
  • Crafts and promotes calls for submissions (written word, art and photography) for each issue of Radix over the school year (2-4 issues).
  • Produces issues for print, promotes the magazine issues on campus, and coordinates and participates in events such as launch parties and discussion groups.
  • Meets regularly during the academic year to collaborate on magazine projects. The MORSL Team attends some of the meetings to support and track the board’s efforts.

Requirements:

You are eligible to apply if you are:

  • a current McGill student
  • interested in faith and or spirituality
  • connected to the campus milieu
  • interested in connecting and collaborating with other students
  • enthusiastic about literary and artistic expression and discussion around spiritual themes
  • familiar with print and online magazines

 

Role-specific Tasks:

Written Word Editor(s)

  • Solicits text submissions for issues of Radix (such as personal and other essays, poetry, etc.)
  • Edits text submissions as needed to be publication ready.

Visual Editor(s)

  • Solicits visual arts submissions for issues of Radix (such as drawings, photographs, paintings, video, etc.)
  • Supports other board members with design tasks as needed.

Promotion & Events Coordinator(s)

  • Strategizes how to effectively promote Radix and encourage other students to get involved. Creates and shares graphic designs and promotional blurbs according to MORSL’s communications protocols.
  • Organizes and facilitates launch parties, discussion groups or book club events in cooperation with other board members and MORSL.

  • Personal experiences connecting with other students and their thoughts, experiences and worldviews concerning spirituality.
