The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce three professorial appointments for the 2023-2024 academic year.     

Michelle Cumyn will join the Faculty of Law as full professor, Noah Weisbord as associate professor, and Jeffrey Kennedy as assistant professor. They will begin their appointments on 1 August 2023.

On le sait désormais : la préservation de l’environnement ne s’arrête pas à la simple réduction des émissions de carbone dans l’atmosphère. Grâce, notamment, à la tenue de la Conférence de l’ONU sur la biodiversité (COP15) à Montréal en décembre 2022, l’importance de la protection de la biodiversité est aujourd’hui bien présente dans l’actualité. Pour des chercheurs comme Andrew Gonzalez, professeur de biologie à l’Université McGill, il était plus que temps.

Located in Oklahoma, the Chickasaw Nation operates more than 100 businesses and employs nearly 14,000 people. The federally recognized Native American tribe has come a long way since Governor Bill Anoatubby began working there as health director in the 1970s. “We had to use ingenuity because we did not have a lot of resources. We had the human resources that we needed to mobilize. We identified the resources we did have and moved forward,” said Anoatubby in an interview with Professor Karl Moore for The Globe and Mail.

April 25, 2023 | In this article, Bénédicte Santoire argues that the post-Soviet space has been erased from the WPS literature because – as elsewhere in the social sciences – the end of the Cold War rearranged the East/West geopolitical imaginaries into a Global North/Global South divide. Consequently, this epistemic gap creates an incomplete picture of the WPS agenda as a whole.

We are pleased to announce that the proposed agreements to SEU: Facilities Management - Student Housing Services - Dining Services - Faculty Club, Printing Services and Data Centre employees were ratified by membership in General Assemblies over several days and completed on April 22.

The current agreement expired on November 7, 2021. The new agreement will come into effect upon signature by the parties and will expire on April 3, 2027.

The parties will finalize and sign the texts of the new agreements and share the detailed terms with the community in the coming weeks.

McGill University has mandated Couvertures St-Léonard to carry out the following project: University Centre / 18-045 - roof replacement

The project consists in the replacement of the roof, skylights and storm drains.

Sayed Azher, a PhD student in experimental surgery who is finding ways to integrate technologies like artificial intelligence and virtual reality simulations into medical education.

Misghana Kassa, a MSc student in experimental surgery who is testing the efficacy of antimicrobial coatings that could safeguard replacement joints (i.e., hips, knees) against infection.
