Sustainable finance is an integral part of a more sustainable future, but it won’t fix the world’s problems overnight. “Even if we all want to go to work tomorrow in electric vehicles, and have our groceries delivered in electric trucks, we’re not there yet,” said BMO Quebec President Grégoire Baillargeon in an interview with McGill Desautels Prof. Karl Moore for Les Affaires. “We need to find technologies to decarbonize, but these types of projects require enormous amounts of money.

E-commerce has made it possible to order almost anything online, but that has made it more challenging for brick-and-mortar retailers to attract shoppers and with more stores sitting vacant, some shopping malls have gotten creative, and added temporary pop-up activities like roller skating and haunted houses. Before the pandemic, commercial landlords demanded multi-year leases, said Charles de Brabant, executive director at McGill University’s Bensadoun School of Retail Management.

Scientists are studying the diets of the oceans’ top predators as they change in response to their environments. This is because how much and what they eat can affect how ecosystems function.

And while researchers know that killer whales, also known as orcas, are the oceans’ apex predators, our understanding of their diet — particularly the quantity of each species they consume — remains incomplete. This is especially true for remote populations that cannot be observed year-round.
