McGill University has mandated Construction Bralteck Inc. to carry out Project 17-175 at the McIntyre Medical Building. The project involves the renovation of tissue culture laboratories located in rooms 1138 to 1143.
The work focuses on upgrading ventilation systems to address existing deficiencies and ensure compliance with current standards, as well as implementing minor laboratory modifications identified by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
McGill University has mandated Corenov Inc. to carry out Project 22-031 at 2001 McGill College. The project aims to improve accessibility and functionality for the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD).
The work will enhance inclusive access throughout the 8th floor by adding an accessible washroom, upgrading access control systems, improving storage facilities, and ensuring barrier‑free entry.
McGill University has mandated Gaston Champoux (1973) inc. to carry out Project 20-065, which supports the reorganization of the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit (CNU) at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), located on the 2nd floor of the Penfield Wing. The project will transform Suite 285, currently used as a library, into offices, testing rooms, and dry laboratories dedicated to research in cognitive psychology and neuroscience.
McGill University has mandated Les Entreprises N.R. Brosseau inc. to carry out Project 20-081, which involves the renovation of laboratory room 3053 in the M.H. Wong Building (FLJE/JELF – Ouzilleau). The project aims to adapt the existing laboratory space to support advanced research activities related to high-temperature pyrometallurgical processing of materials.
McGill University has mandated Les Constructions Serbec Inc. to carry out Project 25-001, which involves the renovation of the 6th floor of the McIntyre Building as part of the Medicine cohort increase initiative. This work will reconfigure the existing floor to accommodate seven new hybrid classrooms dedicated to Clinical Skills Training, integrating in-person instruction with educational technology.
McGill University has mandated Entreprises NR Brosseau Inc. to carry out Project 21-078, which involves upgrades within the McConnell Engineering Building as part of the CFI IF 2023 – Liboiron initiative. The project focuses on the installation of new specialized research equipment in two existing dry laboratories: Room MC010 and Room 816.
McGill University has mandated St-Denis Thompson to carry out Project 18-013, which involves the renovation of the parking island and surrounding area at 680 Sherbrooke West. This work will include the installation of new parking access and exit equipment, as well as the introduction of four electric vehicle (EV) chargers, which will bring EV charging infrastructure to this garage for the first time.
McGill University has mandated Construction Bralteck to carry out Project 21-081 Strathcona Anatomy and Dentistry – CFI Ortega, which involves the fit-up of rooms B/31, B/32B, B/27, and B/2F within the Facility for Electron Microscopy Research (FEMR), to accommodate two new microscopes.
McGill University has mandated SDI Canada to carry out Project 21-094, which involves the installation of a new 9.4T MRI in the Webster Pavilion of the Montreal Neurological Institute.
The project will renovate and transform laboratory spaces WB306 and its adjacent rooms WB305 and WB307 to house the new MRI. A new HVAC system will also be installed on the Webster roof to provide cooling, heating, and humidification. Once complete, the facility will expand McGill’s research capacity in neuroscience and imaging.

Description: The project includes creation of a satellite facility in leased space, transformation of existing space, and the use of technology for multi-space connectivity.

Description: Room 419 is already an existing research laboratory. It has two smaller rooms inside of it but the walls will be demolished to create one large room. The room will be updated to meet the McGill Design Standards for a research laboratory and it will be reconfigured to meet laser lab requirements as well.
