The aim is to use art to create a bridge between McGill's climate scientists - and their valuable research - and the wider McGill community. While there are a couple similar artist-in-residence programs offered at McGill, specifically by the Osler Library and the Faculty of Education's Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE), McGill does not yet have an artistic residency program dedicated to either non-traditional artistic expression or the use of scientific (including climate) data. Providing opportunities for this type of creative work, in addition to engaging our community in new & exciting ways on the topic, will help make climate science more tangible, exciting & accessible.
