The Cybersecurity team is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and implementation of McGill University's cybersecurity program. The team will work to protect institutional data, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and manage cybersecurity risk across the University's digital infrastructure.
The team will provide leadership in security architecture, governance, incident response, and security awareness initiatives, while collaborating with partners across the University to strengthen cybersecurity practices and foster a culture of security throughout the institution.
The Cybersecurity team is comprised of:
- Information Security (managed by Hayson Wong): protects the McGill network and information systems against cyber threats and reduces vulnerabilities by setting security policies and implementing security solutions, including endpoint protection, event monitoring, and two-factor authentication. In collaboration with other units, Information Security supports and sponsors cybersecurity awareness initiatives within McGill’s community.
