McGill offers a wide variety of services to support student success and well-being through its Student Wellness Hub, including having a dedicated Faculty of Education Local Wellness Advisor (LWA) that provides quality wellness outreach and programming to help with the transition to university life, stress, anxiety, and best practices for maintaining a healthy student experience. The LWA also provides information to academic and administrative staff on how to effectively support students, including awareness, prevention, and intervention.
Faculty of Education Local Wellness Advisor
Local Wellness Advisors (LWAs) are trained mental health clinicians placed within faculties and the McGill community to provide on-campus and remote services to help orient and connect students with relevant support resources. LWAs also facilitate wellness programming tailored to your Faculty or identified community and work with Education's departments on wellness best practices and early intervention of stress management. Students benefit from targeted mental health workshops and outreach as well as one-on-one appointments.
