The department would like to congratulate FEMR staff Kelly Sears and Jeannie Mui on receiving the Technologist Award from the Microscopy Society of Canada for 2019 and 2021, respectively.
The Technologist Award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of microscopy research or training. Congratulations to Kelly and Jeannie!

Wahéhshon Whitebean and Cheyenne Neszo have been named recipients of Rathlyn Fellowships. Awarded annually through the Indigenous Studies Program at McGill, Rathlyn Fellowships support Indigenous graduate students at McGill in their studies and research. Each Fellowships is worth $15,000.
The Rathlyn Fellowship is given out each year through the Indigenous Studies Program at McGill.
The Patterson Distinguished Service Medal is a prestigious award recognizing service to meteorology in Canada. Peter Yau is the 2022 winner of this award.

Atia Amin, a PhD candidate in the Langlais Lab at the Department of Human Genetics and trainee at the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Institute of Genomic Medicine, is a budding changemaker and an engine that seemingly doesn’t stop running.

Professor Eve Lee of the McGill Department of Physics and the Trottier Space Institute has been awarded the 2022 Vainu Bappu Gold Medal by the Astronomical Society of India. This medal is awarded once every two years to honour exceptional contributions to Astronomy & Astrophysics by young scientists anywhere in the world.

Karine Auclair, professor in the Department of Chemistry, is the 2023 recipient for the Clara Benson Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC).
Sponsored by the Canadian Council of University Chemistry Chairs (CCUCC), the Clara Benson Award is presented to recognize a woman who has made a distinguished contribution to chemistry while working in Canada.
