Tuition and financial aid

Students in non-thesis graduate programs pay tuition on a per-credit basis

  • Consult the Graduate Studies Tuition Rates table to identify the applicable ‘Non-Thesis Tuition Per Credit’ based on your residency: Quebec, Non-Quebec Canadian, or International.
  • Student Society and departmental or faculty-based fees are not listed in the above table, but are summarized in the McGill Graduate Tuition and Fees Calculator (Note: Fees are quoted on a per-term basis; 15 credits full-time, 7.5 credits half-time).

Financial Aid

Government loans and bursaries

Many federal and provincial government institutions provide funding for Canadian students:

Private institution credit lines and loans

Many private financial institutions in Canada provide student loans and lines of credit for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. We recommend students search and shop for the financial products and services that suit their specific needs.
